Anniversary: Ekiti NLC Hails Fayemi, Demands Better Welfare For Workers

The Nigeria labour Congress NLC Ekiti State Chapter has congratulated Governor Kayode Fayemi on his second year in office.

In a statement, the Chairman of NLC in Ekiti State, Comrade Kolapo Joshua Olatunde described Dr Kayode Fayemi as labour friendly Governor who had continued to treat workers like kings and queens.

Comrade Olatunde noted that the Governor had contributed to the welfare of Ekiti workers through prompt payment of salary, increment in fund for payment of gratuity, payment of  arrears, promotion of workers, and commencement of implementation of promotion arrears.

The number one labour leader in Ekiti State also commended the Governor on projects commisioned to mark the second year in office such as roads, schools, Ultra modern Civic Centre,  Oja Oba in Ado, Multi Purpose halls, Asphalt Processing Centre in Ado Ekiti among others, saying that the projects would improve the socio economic activities in the State.

According to him, the entire members of the Nigeria Labour Congress wish the Governor success in the remaining two years in office and prayed God to continue to grant him wisdom to lead the State aright.

Comrade Kolapo therefore appealed to the Governor  not to relent in his efforts to give better and robust welfare to Ekiti workers particularly payment of the new minimum wage to all cadres.
