ASUSS Lauds Fayemi Over Construction of New Schools.
The Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS Ekiti state chapter has described establishment of new schools by the state government as a decisive step to provide quality Education for all.
ASUSS leadership led by it’s Chairman, Mr Sola Adigun had an unscheduled visit to inspect ongoing construction of the schools in Ado Ekiti, the state.
Speaking with newsmen at the Banji Akinloye High School, Ado Ekiti, Mr Adigun one of the major challenge bedeviling secondary education in the state was the inadequate schools to accommodate the growing population of the state capital in particular.
He stated that ASUSS had consistently drawn the attention of successive government to the overcrowding in public secondary schools.
Mr Adigun who also doubles as the Ekiti TUC Chairman noted that in the last 15 years , no government had added to schools in the state, whereas population grows without control.
He said Dr Kayode had demonstrated his love for Education and the future of the state by taking such giants to provide space for citizens to acquire up till secondary education which is the most significant point of training globally.
Also speaking, Treasurer of the Union, Pastor Adeola Augustine noted that, Governor Fayemi was not only constructing schools, but also celebrating individual who had made landmark contribution in their areas of endeavours by naming the schools after them.
Pastor Augustine acknowledged that the school buildings were done in compliance with modern day building construction which would encourage all inclusive education.
ASUSS however appealed to the government to prioritise quality manpower into the schools.
