The lawmaker representing Ekiti South Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Biodun Olujimi has called on INEC to ensure fairness during the forth coming governorship elections in Ondo and Edo States.

Olujimi who spoke in Ado Ekiti during the maiden meeting of a factional executive members of the People’s Democratic Party PDP led by Mr Kehinde Odebunmi explained that Nigerians would not accept a repeat of what transpired in Kogi State where the process was marred with irregularities.

She appealed to INEC to stand out this time and justify its position as an unbiased umpire by ensuring that votes of every citizen in the concerned states count.

Speaking on the visit of the former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Ayodele Fayose and a factional executive members to the National Secretariat of the party, Senator Olujimi said such visit had no significance or implication describing it as a recreational visit which any member of a party could embark upon.

According to her, Fayose and his loyalists have only embarked on a “photoshoot” at the party Secretariat.

She called on members of the party to support Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi led administration with the hope that he would correct the wrongs that have retarded the growth of PDP.

Earlier, the chairman of the factional executives, Hon. Kehinde Odebunmi promised to adopt subtle methods and dynamism in the administration of the party while efforts would be made to provide a healthy and all inclusive leadership that would guarantee victory for the party in the future elections in Ekiti.

Odebunmi said “This marks the beginning of a new era for PDP in Ekiti State as we are poised to administer this party in a different way that will bring positive result.

As you all know, you cannot continue to do the same thing, the same way and expect a different result. No one man show. No impunity. Internal Democracy will reign supreme.

“We are indeed grateful to the Party Elders, Leaders and Members for reposing their confidence in these crop of unassuming diligent officers of the Party. We want to assure you all that we shall live up to your expectations. We want to also appreciate those former PDP members who had left the party in the face of intimidation, oppression and humiliation during the last administration, but are already talking to us about their willingness to comeback, having been personally convinced that there is hope for a brighter future for the party under our leadership.

“We will not relent in welcoming new members as well and assure you of a level playing ground to operate, as the power of the party lies in the people especially, at the grassroot(i.e the Wards and Local Government levels).

“The issue of the Party Secretariat will be resolved before the end of this week. Meanwhile, efforts are in top gear to reclaim our New Secretariat, which was allegedly sold by the former Governor Ayo Fayose to his friend.
