Christians have been told that what God demands from them is holy sacrifice in order to be joint heirs with Christ in heaven.

The Archbishop of Ondo Province and Bishop of Ekiti Diocese (Anglican Communion), Dr. C.T. Omotunde who gave the admonition, reminded Christians that generosity, tithe, offering and service without a holy life would rob them of being in the presence of God.

Dr. Omotunde in his sermon on the 9th Sunday of Trinity on Ekiti 91.5fm, said Jesus died for us but that if we are not following Christ, we will be rejected by God; pointing out that it does not remove anything from God to do that.

“Your profile or achievements on earth has nothing to do with God. Whoever you are, if you are still indulged in sinful acts, your tithes and offering cannot be acceptable before God.

“Your heart is what God requires to be holy. You need to be born again first and then live according to the mind of God. Don’t mix yourself with this world because it will make you to lose your friendship with God.

“You should stop this hypocrisy that no one can do without committing sin, even when you know the truth. Stop calling yourself a Christian when you are not”, he said.

The Archbishop however thanked the state government for allowing Church service to resume on August 17 and urged worshippers to follow the rules and regulations of Covid 19 during service.
