Ekiti state government says it will begin enforcement on the use of face masks on erring members of the Public today( Monday).
This followed rising cases of COVID-19 in Ekiti due to the continued disregard to safety rules against coronavirus especially failure of the people to use face masks.
The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Olawale Fapounda told newsmen in Ado Ekiti that there would be Stiffer Sanctions for anybody who fails to comply with the directive.
He ordered security operatives to apprehend anybody who fails to wear face mask while such offender would be tried at a special court.
He pointed out that that carelessness by members of the public was dangerous considering the lifting of ban on Inter -State travel.
Ekiti state has so far recorded over eighty cases of COVID-19..
