Says My People Are Suffering

Ekiti State government has been called upon again to find lasting solutions to the power outage in Gbonyin Local Government.

Gboyin which is one of the largest councils in Ekiti State has been in total blackout for about six years now this crippling the social and economic activities of the communities under the council.

Speaking with newsmen in Agbado Ekiti, a Chieftain of  the People’s Democratic Party, PDP,  Mr. Bunmi Adeyanju known as Ayanfe Gbonyin worried over the lackadaisical attitude  of successive governments towards restoring power to the council.

Mr. Adeyanju who is the PDP House of Assembly candidate in the last election explained that power is one of the major basic necessity of life urging the present government to take pragmatic steps to bail the responsible and hardworking people of the council out of the untold hardship brought upon them by the unwarranted blackout.

He explained that the power outage in the council area had affected business activities as most residents rely solely  on power generating sets to run their business a situation he said was too expensive and taxing.

The PDP chieftain said the development also contributed to hike in price of good and services in the council area.

Hon Adeyanju called on the present administration to dialogue with BEDC management to restore light to the communities.

Ayanfe Gbonyin  noted that residents of the Council could not pay the money demanded by the BEDC before light could be restored to the council area and called on governor Kayode Feyemi to wage into the matter.
