A – 20 year old boy, Nasiru Sarki, has been remanded at currently Mandala Correctional Service Centre,in Ilorin for allegedly raping a cattle rearer, Maimuna Mohammed to death in Lade, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.

According to Radio Nigeria a brother of the deceased, Ibrahim Mohammed, reported the matter to the police after the cattle she took out for grazing returned to the camp without her.

The search team raised by the community was said to have found the lifeless body of the deceased in the bush.

The alleged rapist was arraigned at the Magistrate court, Ilorin for the offence of rape and culpable homicide contrary to section 283 and 221 of penal code law.

The state prosecutor, Ayeni Gbenga, told the court that the defendant was arraigned under a motion expate,after his arrest through the phone he made away with from the deceased he allegedly raped .

Magistrate Monisola Kamson, who had earlier declined taking the defendant’s plea for lack of jurisdiction, adjourned the matter to

Similarly the Nasarawa State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has apprehended a 27 year old man for alleged defilement of a three month old baby at Adogi village of Lafia Local Government Area of the state.

Parading the suspect at the NSCDC State Command headquarters in Lafia, Deputy Commandant , Mr Bisi Olaboyega said the suspect had been on the run for about three weeks after allegedly committing the act.

The suspect was alleged to have defiled four other children aged between three months and one year.

Nasarawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps witnessed heavy presence of people as they trooped into the premises to catch a glimpse of the suspect that was alleged to have defiled a three month old baby at Adogi village in the outskirts of Lafia the state capital.

The story had attracted outright condemnation from residents of the state praying for the arrest of the perpetrator.

Briefing newsmen, the Nasarawa State Deputy Commandant of NSCDC, Mr. Bisi Oluboyega said the suspect Ahmed Yaro was arrested in Adogi village of Lafia Local Government Area following a top off.

Mr Bisi Oluboyega expressed surprised as to what could have been the motive behind the act which he described as ungodly.

Mother of the baby Mrs Halima Aliyu said she was asleep at home with the door was opened due to the heat only to wake and discovered that her three months old baby had been abducted.

The suspect, Ahmadu Yaro admitted committing the act but said it was his first time.

Four other parents who were at the NSCDC command office with their children aged between three months and one year narrated how their babies were missing and later found in uncompleted buildings at different times suspected to have been defiled by the same suspect.
