It was indeed a recognition of qualitative leadership, diligence, hard work and selflessness as men and officers of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ekiti State Command organized a sendoff party to celebrate the comptroller of the command Mrs Ifeoma Dibia who bowed out of active service.
The programme which took place at a five star hotel in Ado Ekiti was held in line with the necessary guidelines outlined by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control due to the current spate of Covid-19 pandemic.
The officers irrespective of their ranks showered encomium and lots of expensive gifts on the outgoing comptroller for her qualitative leadership and outstanding performances while piloting the affairs of the command.
Various security chiefs in the state were not left out as they equally said good things about the comptroller wishing her a peaceful retirement and success in her future endeavour.
The celebrant Mrs. Dibia who could not hide her feelings danced extensively to appreciate the gesture of her officers and the grace of God that sustained her life to end the thirty five years meritorious service with a loud ovation.
Addressing the gathering, the outgoing comptroller, acknowledged the support of her staff which she said made her to record unprecedented achievements despite all odds.
“I am blessed, when I was coming to Ekiti, people were worried and were asking me while I was happy but here I am today, i met people i can refer to as my friends, my sons and daughters, they are wonderful people, they made my stay easy and pleasant.
“They love me the way i am, all that I achieved was because of the love, cooperation and collaboration that I enjoyed even among the security heads in the state.
“Even the media contributed to my success, i am happy seeing them, they did very well for me, they supported me and gave me quality publicity.
“When i assumed office, I met land procured by my predecessor with no structure but I have been able to put up a befitting structure which is a legacy that will live after me.
Dibia commended the officers for striving hard to enhance their academic qualifications through the various tertiary institutions around the state adding that such step gave room for the high number of upgraded and promoted staff this year urging them to keep it up.
She appealed to the command to continue to uphold the ethics of the service and desist from acts that could destroy the solid foundation laid by various leaders that have passed through the command.
Two other officers of the command who also bowed out of service Mr. Emmanuel Oni, and Mr Gbadamosi Atanda were also celebrated alongside the comptroller as they also got gifts from the command.
