A Facebook user, Abimbola Olawumi Olajumoke Adeniyi says she has apologized to the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Hakeem Jamiu over a case of character assassination levelled against her.

Abimbola made this known in her facebook post after a meeting at the Palace of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti on Wednesday!

According to her: “My father, the Ewi has banned me from criticizing anyone on this page”. “He has resolved the misunderstanding between me and Hon. Hakeem Jamiu amicably”. “I’ve apologized to him, peace will henceforth reign between us”.

Abimbola Olawumi had before now, on several occasions deployed all her strength to castigate the Legislator who hails from the same Local Government with her over unfounded claims and campaign of calumny on her Facebook page.

She had on May 2020 through two online news platforms claimed that she executed a road project for the State government in June 2018 when the Fayemi’s administration was not yet in office and when Hon. Hakeem Jamiu was not yet elected member of the State Assembly, and accused the Deputy Speaker of blocking her payment.

The development apparently did not go down well with the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Hakeem Jamiu, his family, friends and close associates.

This ugly trend made the Deputy Speaker petitioned the Ekiti state Police command to bring her to book over what he described as her many unwarranted attacks on his person and desecration of his office.

The Deputy Speaker in a letter dated May the 29th, 2020, with the caption; “Continuous character assassination of my Person,Cybercrime and threat to Life by Abimbola Olawumi Olajumoke-Adeniyi asked the State Commissioner of Police, Amba Asuquo to wade into the matter and bring her to book.

According to witnesses, the suspect has been traveling secretly from one place to another in a bid to escape being arrested but luck ran out for her a couple of weeks back as she was apprehended at the Ekiti state university area in Ado Ekiti by detectives.

Report says she evaded arrest, screamed to create attention of the public and ran to Ewi’s palace, Oba Adeyemo Adejugbe to seek refuge, hence, the highly revered traditional ruler waded into the matter and invited the Deputy Speaker.

Olajumoke Adeniyi was latter picked up by the police the following day, but the Deputy Speaker appealed to the commissioner of Police to sheath his sword on the honour of the Ado Ekiti Paramount ruler, adding that consultations were ongoing between him and the Ewi.

The traditional ruler warned Abimbola Olawumi Olajumoke Adeniyi to henceforth desist from character assassination and campaign of calumny against the Deputy Speaker.

The Ewi also asked her to kneel down and apologise to the Deputy Speaker and beg for forgiveness which she promptly did, with a promise that she will never repeat such ugly trend.

The traditional ruler said he would not hesitate to use every legal and traditional means to seek redress if she failed to hearken to his directives.

The suspect begged for forgiveness and promised not to venture into such frivolous postings on her Facebook and other social media platforms again.

She consequently took to her Facebook and wrote: “My father, the Ewi has banned me from criticizing anyone on this page”. “He has resolved the misunderstanding between me and Hon. Hakeem Jamiu amicably”. “I’ve apologized to him, peace will henceforth reign between us”. Among others.
