Thirty one inmates in Ado Ekiti correctional centre have regained their freedom.

The inmates were released by the Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Ayodeji Daramola during a visit to the correctional center.

Releasing the inmates, the Chief Judge of Ekiti state, Justice Ayodeji Daramola said the inmates were released in line with the Federal Government’s directive to prevent spread of coronavirus in all the correctional centres across the country.

Justice Daramola advised those that enjoyed the privilege to be law abiding citizens of the country and shun crimes.

The Chief Judge who inspected the facility commended the Correctional officers for maintaining hygienic environment.

In a remark, the Controller Ekiti Correctional Center, represented by the Deputy controller, Mr Esan Patrick appreciated the Chief Judge for his kind gesture and urged the beneficiaries to be of good character and law abiding citizens.

With the development, seventy three inmates have been released by Justice Ayodeji Daramola in the correctional centre this year.
