The leadership of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) in Ekiti State has wished all Muslim faithfuls in Ekiti State and Nigeria by extension a happy Eid-el-fitri celebration.
This is contained in a statement signed by the chairman, Hon. Tosin Adesuyi and the secretary Comrade Fadare Oluwaseun Emmanuel.
The statement reads “While celebrating with the Muslim faithfuls, particularly the youth, we note that it is important to reflect on the significance of this celebration and its lessons in relation to the challenges confronting the youth population in Nigeria which NYC has come to rescue and the pandemic ravaging the world.
“On the one hand, reflecting on the significance of this celebration with regard to the intense sacrifice of our personal desires in obedience to Almighty Allah during the holy month, will enable us to show more concern and empathy for the demeaning state of the youth in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large by sacrificing more of our personal gain and interest for communal development as projected by NYC in Ekiti State. On the other hand, it has taught us to be more steadfast in our relationship with Almighty Allah. It is our prayer therefore, that all the prayers offered to Allah in the holy month are sanctioned.
“Nevertheless, we enjoin you all to continue in the ceaseless prayers as in the period of Ramadan to attract God’s attention towards ending this pandemic ravaging the world and assist NYC to achieve the desired goals for the youth population.
We congratulate you all once again and beseech you to adhere strictly to the precautionary measures to curtail the further spread of COVID-19 as suggested by health professionals, NCDC and international agencies.
