In commemoration of of this year’s workers’ day, the Trade Union Congress, TUC Ekiti State Council has distributed palliatives to its members.

The palliatives include cash gifts for members who are sick and food stuff for others, while hand washing buckets will be donated to TUC offices and ministries next week for workers to sanitize their hands.

Distributing the items in Ado-Ekiti, the TUC chairman in Ekiti state, Mr. Sola Adigun said it became imperative to reach out to the people in view of the present realities caused by covid 19.

Mr. Adigun who appreciated the state government for its support appealed to Governor Kayode Fayemi to accede to yearnings of workers in the state as regards the minimum wage at end of the corona virus.

Two of those who benefited from the TUC intervention programme, Mr Olowookere Lawrence and Mrs Ojo Funmilayo thanked the leadership of the union and the state government for the gesture.

After the distribution of the items, the TUC chairman led the executives on visit to members of the union who are sick.
