GBOYIN LG TO SPEND 2.7BILLION NAIRA FOR 2020 FISCAL YEAR.
The chairman of Gboyin Local Government, Prince Ayodele Fadunmiye has presented the 2020 appropriation bill of about three billion naira to the legislative chamber of the council for ratification.
The appropriation bill christened, “Budget of Transformation” has a recurrent expenditure of about two billion naira and capital expenditure of eight hundred and fifty million naira .
Addressing the house, the chairman of the council Prince Ayodele Fadunmiye said the budget was carefully prepared to capture the yearnings and aspirations of people of the council in line with the five point agenda of the present government of Dr John Kayode Fayemi.
According to the chairman, the budget was compiled in conformity with extant rules and realities of the moment with special consideration for social, economic and all round development.
“As much as we are eager and willing to succeed and make meaningful impact in the lives of our people, this can only be achieved through the support, cooperation and collective efforts of all and sundry and this we are soliciting from all good people of this council.
Prince Fadunmiye called on the legislators to give the budget accelerated passage.
Speaking with newsmen after the presentation, Vice Chairman of the council Mr Oladimeji Ayegboka explained that the present administration had mapped out various strategies to improve the internally generated revenue of the council for effective implementation of the budget.
He pleaded with members of the council to pay their taxes regularly and maintain clean environment to avoid outbreak and prevention of diseases.
Receiving the budget the leader of the Local government legislative house Mr Bola Akinyemi promised the readiness of the chamber to partner the executive for rapid development of the council.
In an interview, the APC chairman in Ekiti State Mr Paul Omotosho, expressed confidence in the executive to make judicious use of the meagre resources of the council.
