FIBAN SET TO INAUGURATE CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW COMMITTEE

Following the approval of the National Working Committee, the National President, Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Comrade Desmond Nwachukwu will on Thursday 2Oth February, 2O2O formally inaugurate the constitution review committee of the association.

According to the President, ‘build up to the recent national election, there were arguments for and and against some provisions of the constitution. It has therefore become expedient for us to conclude the amendment of our constitution which began during the administration of Comrade Yemi Sonde’.

“While explaining the rationale behind the choice of members of the committee, the President said that, ‘ we cannot have all the chapters represented so the gentlemen that make up this Committee were drawn from critical stakeholders which include the representatives of the National Officers, Board of Trustees, Elders, Chairmen, former National Officers etc

The nine man Committee that will work with Barr Lukman Abdullahi as Legal Adviser has the first National Vice President, Akogun Muyiwa Akinlerele as Chairman. Others are:
Chief Tomogun Olubunmi’, Alhaji Gbenga Adebayo Oladunni, Comrade Bambo Richard, Dr Bade Ojuade, Comrade Funke Olawoye, Comrade King Akin Adenuga, Mr Ishola Ogungbesan while the National General Secretary, Comrade Taiwo Adebayo-Gold will serve as the Secretary of the committee.

The Committee will be inaugurated by three o’clock in the afternoon of Thursday 2Oth February, 2O2O at the secretariat of the Ogun State Chapter of the association.
