Occupants of an old storey building located in Odo Aremu street, Erueguru community, Ado Ekiti have been thrown into agony and pain following a fire incident that razed the building.

The incident which occurred on Tuesday at about three o’clock in the afternoon left no valuable untouched.

The occupants who could not  bear the pain cried profusely as sympathizers pacified them.

Roundoffnews reporter gathered that the fire started at about three o’clock in the afternoon when all the occupants had gone to their places of livelihood.

Witnesses told journalists that an old woman left in the building was cooking with a firewood at the backyard from where the fire was suspected to have  snowballed into the building.

Though, fire fighters from the Ekiti State Fire Service were able to put out the fire, it was already late as all property in the building had been razed.

The poor layout of the environment made it difficult for the vehicle of the firefighters to get closer to the building thus giving room for the destruction.

Speaking with Roundoffnews, some of the occupants including a teenager claimed that the money she saved for her business had been razed by the fire.

Other occupants who were wearing a gloomy and dejected look, pleaded with government to assist them as they have been left with nothing.

The fire incident is one among many cases recorded in Ado Ekiti in the last one month.
