MASS DISENGAGEMENT:EKSUTH WORKERS THREATENS TO EMBARK ON STRIKE.
The Joint Health Sector Unions, Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital Ado Ekiti, has given seven days ultimatum for management of the hospital to reverse the unlawful disengagement of some of its members.
Management of the hospital had on new year eve terminate the appointment of about 200 workers for different reasons.
The union in a letter dated 3rd of January and submitted to the office of the Chief Medical Director of the hospital threatened to embark on strike if the management failed to meet up with their demands.
According to the letter, the union condemned the action of the management describing it as anti worker and against the public service rules.
The union insisted that some of the workers were disengaged erroneously without following due process.
The union also challenged the management to pay all outstanding arrears of workers and corporative dues to guarantee industrial harmony.
