The People’s Democratic Party PDP in Ekiti State has condemned the recent sacking of many staff of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti and that of the State University Teaching Hospital EKSUTH by governor Kayode Fayemi.

Management of the Ekiti State University, EKSU had recently sacked about one thousand staff while Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital sacked over one hundred of its staff for alleged redundancy, illegal employment, non possession of primary six certificates among others.

In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the state PDP chairman, Chief Gboyega Oguntuase explained that the government’s decision would further compound the high rate of unemployment in the state.

Chief Oguntuase noted that it was quite unfortunate that government which supposed to create employment opportunities for people was the now finding pleasure in sacking of workers for flimsy excuses.

“I have said it times without number that Fayemi has no good intention for Ekiti people rather than to compound their sufferings.

According to him, the development would lead to increase in crimes and promote prostitution among young ladies.

“The APC adminstration in Ekiti state lacked vision and initiative to create atmosphere for people to thrive, how can you sack people on the last day of the year while other states were busy paying thirteen months and given out incentives to boost morale of their workers.

Chief Oguntuase called on Governor Kayode Fayemi to rescind his decision which had subjected Ekiti people to unwarranted hardship.
