At least two players of Ifeanyi Ubah Football Club were seriously wounded in an attack carried out by an unknown gunmen wearing National Youth Service Corps(NYSC), uniform near Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
The armed men were said to have opened fire on the moving vehicle and thereby injuring the driver and some players.
The windshield and body of the vehicle was seriously damaged with bullets, while blood splattered all over the aisle of the bus.
Unconfirmed report said they were traveling for a Nigeria Professional Football League(NPFL) match slated for the weekend.
They injured players and drivers have since been rushed to an undisclosed hospital for medical treatment.
