Radio Nigeria Progress FM Ado Ekiti has again proven its worth as the leading radio station in Ekiti state, after breaking a long time communication barrier in the state.

This great feat was achieved after the station switched to a new modern digital transmitter provided by its head station in Ibadan Oyo state.

Before now, some communities in Ekiti state have not been receiving signals from radio stations in Ekiti due to their topography.

Some of these communities which include, Efon Alaaye, Okemesi, Ijero and few towns under Moba local government have always depended on stations from neighbouring states to have access to necessary information.

However, shout of joy rent the air in some of these communities after they received the signal of progress FM frequency loud and clear.

The people who made a call to the station described the new development as a relief and something of joy.

Some of the callers explained that the access to progress FM would give them a better sense of belonging to the Ekiti state system

Speaking with Roundoffnews, the Zonal Director Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan National Station, Mr Muhammed Bello explained that the new transmitter was procured out of the determination of the corporation to serve Ekiti people better.

Mr Bello explained that the primary objective of setting up progress FM was to bridge the information gap between government and the people.

He urged members of staff to ensure proper maintenance of the new gadget and improved on their service delivery.

Earlier, the General Manager of the station Mr Dokun Ladele expressed happiness over the new feat saying the new transmitter would propel workers to put in their best.
