Do Not Engage In Social Vices – NYSC Area Coordinator Warns Ekiti Corps Members.
The NYSC South West Area Coordinator, Mr. Emmanuel Danjuma Attah has warned corps members currently observing the orientation course in Ekiti State to shun social vices like internet fraud and cultism.
Attah who was addressing the corps members during his unscheduled visit to the NYSC Permanent orientation camp, Ise-Orun/Emure Ekiti cautioned them against culpable acts and the get-rich-quick syndrome which has sent Nigerian youths to their early grave.
He equally urged them not to partake in the act of protest which is strictly prohibited in NYSC Bye laws. He enjoined the corps members to abide by the NYSC dress codes and that any corps member who dress contrary to what NYSC has given will be shown the way out of the scheme. According to him, the NYSC uniform is our pride and identity and must be used inline with the approved dress code for service.
Attah further warned that corps members should use the social media with caution. He further gave his phone number out for those that seeks redress to call him instead of running to the social media media which will result in tarnishing the public image of the scheme. He also charged them not to grant press interview at the detriment of the scheme.
The Area Coordinator however warned the corps members not to engage in frivolous journeys. He admonished them to cherish their lives because most unforseen deaths amongst corps members is virtually caused by road accidents.
The NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Mrs Emmanuella Okpongete in her address read out the profile and the achievements of the Area Coordinator to the amazement of the corps members who were listening keenly and thanked him for creating time to visit is children at the camp.
