Some leaders of the People’s Democratic Party PDP across the sixteen local government areas of Ekiti state have jointly agreed that justice and fairness must be upheld if the party must return to power.

To this end, the leaders resolved to fight against any act of dictatorship and imposition as witnessed during Governor Ayodele Fayose led administration.

These are among the resolutions reached during a reunion meeting called by the concerned leaders to strategize on how to return the party to power in subsequent elections.

Speaking at the meeting which was held in Ado Ekiti, former southwest National Chairman of the party, Chief Makanjuola Ogudipe explained that the meeting was called to reexamine the activities of the party and strategize ahead of future political activities.

Also, the former deputy governor of Ekiti state, Dr Sikiru lawal observed that the party failed during the last governorship election due to imposition and self centeredness of some leaders but said such situation would not be tolerated anymore.

Dr lawal noted that the party would not give room for any dictatorship and imposition during the next year congress of the party as all members must be given equal opportunity.

On his own, former national assembly member and former chairman of PDP in Ekiti state, senator Clement Awoyelu was of the opinion that the meeting would further strengthen the party and boost its chances during the 2023 elections.

Senator Awoyelu called on aggrieved members of the party to reconcile and come back saying PDP had continued to put in place strategies that would allow voice of every member to be recognized.

The PDP leaders called on leaders of the party across the council areas to continue to support the party to achieve its goals.
