FIFA U17 WORLD CUP: EAGLETS REPEAT HISTORY AFTER DEFEATING HUNGARY .

By Roundoffnews.

This year’s FIFA under seventeen world cup has kicked off in Brazil with Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets winning their first match.

In both teams first match in group B, Nigeria came from 2–1 down to beat Hungary by 4 goals to 2.

Hungary drew the first blood as early as the 3rd minute when Komaromi scored but Nigeria’s Samson Tijani equalised through a penalty in the 20th minute.

The Europeans got in the lead again in the 28th minute through Samuel Major and then it appeared that would be the final score.

Within 7 minutes late into the game, Nigeria scored three goals to completely turn the table and confound the Hungarians.

Usman Ibrahim 79′, Timilehin Adeniyi 82′, and Samson Tijani again 85′, were all on the scoresheet to finish the match 4–2 in Nigeria’s favour.

Just like it happened 34 years ago in the maiden U17 World Cup, when Hungary scored first and Nigeria replied with 3 goals, history had repeated itself.

Nigeria’s next match holds on Tuesday against Ecuador.

Elsewhere, host Brazil defeated Canada by 4 goals to 1 in group A.

The competition continues today with more matches in groups C and D
