Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, has advised the executive members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE Ekiti State chapter, to be united and work harmoniously so as to consolidate on the achievements of their predecessors.
Governor Fayemi gave the advice at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Southwest Region 146, Omisanjana Ado Ekiti, during the thanksgiving service to mark the emergence of the new NULGE executives under the leadership of Comrade Oluseyi Olatunde.
Represented by the Senior Special Assistant on Labour Matters, Chief Oluyemi Esan, governor Fayemi promised to continue to give improved attention to the welfare of local government workers so as to achieve the desired growth and agenda of his government at the grassroots.
He explained that his government would fulfill his promises on the payment of outstanding salaries and areas, urging workers to also reciprocate the gesture through hard work.
Also speaking, the chairman of the Association of Local Government, ALGON Hon. Dapo Olagunju, the Chairman Local Government Service Commission Mr Samuel Ajisafe and other dignitaries on the occasion expressed confidence in the leadership quality of Comrade Olatunde urging members of the union to rally round him.
In a short sermon, the Regional Overseer Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Omisanjana Pastor Solomon Olarewaju, commended the NULGE executives for returning all glory to God.
Pastor Olarewaju urged the NULGE leadership to rule with the fear of God and give priority to the welfare of their members above financial gains.
Earlier in his testimony,
the new president of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE Comrade Oluseyi Olatude thanked God for the victory recorded despite the various challenges witnessed before the delegates conference.
He acknowledged the roles of the leaders of the union at resolving all crisis and bringing all caucuses in the union together.
Comrade Olatunde promised to live up to expectation and take the union to an enviable heights.
Highlight of the programme was a special prayer for the NULGE executives, their members and families.
