The Nigeria union of Teachers, NUT Ekiti state wing has extended hands of fellowship to children of  Erelu Angela Adebayo Orphanage  home, iyin Ekiti.

Some of the items donated to the children are Books, Diapers, Snacks and other materials that could enhance the living standard of the   children.

Roundoffnews gathered that the gesture is part of activities lined up to celebrate this year world Teachers’ Day.

Handing over the items to  the  staff  of the children home, the chairman of the  Nigeria union of Teachers, Ekiti state, Mr Samuel Olugbesan explained that the gesture was to associate with the children and contribute to their well being.

Mr Olugbesan said the union would make it part of its obligations to contribute to the welfare of less privileged in the society in its subsequent programmes.

The NUT chairman appealed to well meaning persons in the society to use their wealth to better the lots of others.

He also appealed to parents to take good care  of their children for them to be relevant in future  and urged those in the habit of dumping babies on the road side to desist from such act.

Receiving the gift on behalf of the children Mrs Ajayi Adebayo thanked the leadership of NUT in Ekiti state for the gesture.

At the programme, children of the Erelu Angela Adebayo appreciated the teachers for remembering them.

Meanwhile,the Union will hold a public  lecture tomorrow Friday at its office along Old Iyin road while the grand finale of the programme will take place on Saturday at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium by ten o clock in the morning.
