Property worth millions of Naira have been destroyed by flood in Ado, Ekiti State capital.

The mostly affected areas are Ureje, Omisanjana, Egbewa and Olorunsogo all in Ado Ekiti.

The incident followed a downpour in the state capital which lasted for hours.

Roundoffnews correspondent Olaniyi Gbenga who visited the scenes of the incident reports that houses were pulled down while vehicles and motorcycles were swept away by flood.

The bridge at Ureje along Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti, was badly damaged by the flood.

In a separate interviews, some of the victims and residents of the affected areas including the Ochidoma of Idoma people living in Ekiti State, Oyigoche Otache appealed to the state Government to assist them in putting an end to the problem.

They claimed that they now live in perpetual fear any time it rains.

However the respondents called on people to desist from building houses on waterways and stop dumping refuse in the drainages.
