EKSU MANAGEMENT BOWS TO PRESSURE, SUSPENDS NEW TAX REGIME.
Authorities of the Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti has suspended the newly controversial tax policy and presentation of primary six certificate imposed on staff of the institution.
The decision was reached after the Management of the institution under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun met with the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) of the University.
The workers had on Thursday protested the new tax regime and presentation of primary six certificate imposed on them.
In a statement in Ado Ekiti, the Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, Ekiti State University Bode Olofinmuagun said the management would further deliberate and meet with concern stakeholders so as to resolve the matter.
Meanwhile, members of the University community have been advised to go about with their normal official duties.
