EKITI COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION OLUMILUA EMPOWERS MORE WOMEN IN IKERE EKITI.
Another Set of 10 petty traders in Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State, have been empowered by the State Commissioner for Information, Tourism and Values Orientation, Aare Muyiwa Olumilua.
The gesture tagged “AARE TRADER MONEY” (ATM) is aimed at supporting petty traders in Ikere Ekiti.
The beneficiaries were selected from Agbado-Oyo ward, Ikere Ekiti.
Disbursing the money to the beneficiaries in Ikere-Ekiti, Aare Olumilua explained that the empowerment programme was in support of the efforts of Governor Fayemi, to develop the State and make people at the grassroots self-reliant.
Olumilua, who was represented by his Special Assistant, Mr Sola Falade, added that the focus was to boost the economy of the State and create employment opportunities.
Reiterating the commitment of the Fayemi led administration in the State to the welfare of the people, the Commissioner solicited the support of well-to-do individuals in the task of returning the core values of Ekiti.
According to him, the empowerment programme is continuous, adding that it was usually done in batches of 10 traders and would go round the wards in the Local Government Area.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries,the Chairman of Agbado-Oyo Ward, Alfa Abioye Badmus, expressed gratitude to their benefactor, and promised to ensure that the beneficiaries make judicious use of the money.
