People of Okemesi Ekiti particularly traders are currently suffering in silence due to lack of financial institution in the acient town .

The situation has subjected them to hardship of traveling out to neighbouring towns for financial transactions.

The poor state of telecommunication reception in the community is an hindrance to the internet banking system which could have served as an alternative.

The situation began  four years ago  after the only financial institution in the town  was attacked by armed robbers.

During the robbery incedent, four people were reportedly killed by men of the underworld while several others were injured.

investigation by Roundoffnews shows that immediately after the attack the bank relocated its staff and abandoned all property in the vicinity thus leaving the acient town of Okemesi with the hardship of traveling to neighbouring communities for financial transactions.

All other financial institutions approached by the leaders of the community have also not responded for alleged fear of insecurity .

Some traders in the community worried over the situation, saying they were suffering and paying for offence they never committed.

in a chat with Roundoffnews the Owa-Oye of Okemesi Oba Gbadebo Adedeji expressed concern over the development which he said had affected economic activities in the town

He pleaded with Financial institutions to set up their branches in the area promising that the community would do everything possible to provide the necessary security support.

The question now is which bank will bell the cat?.
