A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress APC Pastor Kayode Babade has sympathized with people of Ikere Ekiti whose property were affected by the recent flooding.

Flood had few days ago submerged some parts of Ikere Ekiti thus destroying property worth millions of Naira while many people were rendered homeless.

In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado Ekiti, Pastor Babade expressed deep pain over the level of damages done by the natural disaster.

“I was not happy when I saw houses and cars submerged by the flood, I feel so pained by the incident and I sympathize with my people Babade said”

Pastor Babade who is the Chairman Board for Technical and Vocational Education commended the Swift intervention of Governor Kayode Fayemi, speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly Right Hon. Funminiyi Afuye, Commissioner for Environment Hon. Olugbenga Agbeyo and the Commissioner for information Aare Muyiwa Olumilua towards consoling victims and making necessary arrangements to forestall future occurrence.

According to him, such action of Fayemi has again affirmed his love for his people .

However, pastor Babade pleaded with people of the state to always respect environmental laws saying human factors contributed to increasing rate of natural disasters.

He urged people of Ikere to desist from building on water ways and dumping of refuse in drainages.
