A Retired Bishop of the African Church of Nigeria, Rt. Reverey Olu Afeni has emphasized the need for politicians to always give back to the society and formulate policies that would benefit all.
Reverend Afeni gave the charge in his sermon at during a special thanksgiving service held in honour of the Leader of Government Business in the Ekiti State House of Assembly and lawmaker representing ikole constituency one, Hon Gboyega Aribisogan.
The program held at the Hosanna African Church, Ijesa Isu Ekiti, was witnessed by the Speaker and members of the State House of Assembly, the Chief of Staff to the Governor and the State Head of Service and APC leaders across the State.
Retired Bishop Afeni who praised God on behalf of the lawmaker told him to regard his position as an opportunity to help the people.
He explained that positions was transient hence the need for whoever occupies an exalted seat to strive and make a positive impact.
The celebrant, Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan expressed his appreciation to God through dance offering.
Speaking with newsmen, Hon Aribisogan who is the Aisawju Okunrin African Church said he had every cause to thank God considering His grace in his life.
The lawmaker said the two in one special thanksgiving was held to acknowledge God’s kindness to him through his victory at the House of Assembly election and his installation as the Aisawju Okunrin African Church, Ekiti Oke diocese.
He promised to use his position to better the lots of people of his constituency and beyond.
The speaker, Rt.Hon Funminiyi Afuye and some of his colleagues congratulated the lawmaker on his installation as Asiwaju Okunrin of African Church and wished him well.
