The leadership of Justice Development and Peace Initiative JDPI and the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Ekiti State Council have resolved to commence the full assessment of various policies and programmes of Ekiti Sate Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi in line with his electioneering.

The assessment which is expected to be carried out by jury of journalists in partnership with JDPI team is to ascertain the level of implementation of the manifesto of Governor Fayemi so as to identify areas of commendation and improvement.

At the meeting which took place in Ado Ekiti, the Coordinator of JDPI Reverend Father Akingbade explained that the proposed monitoring was a follow up to a programme tagged “Manifesto to to Agreement Drive” which was put together by JDPI and NUJ prior to the election.

During the programme all candidates of political parties were made to present their blueprint and signed to an oath to fulfill all promised in the document.

According to Reverend Father Akingbade, the proposed programme is without political or personal interest but based on Constitutional requirements to hold leaders accountable.
