Ogun state government is planning to send a bill prescribing death sentence for kidnappers to the state house of Assembly for legislative actions.

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun made this known in Iperu Remo while receiving league of Imams and Alfas in Remoland who paid him Sallah Homage.

Governor Abiodun who said that the bill when passed would curb incessant cases of kidnapping in the state, pointed out that prosecution of kidnappers with capital punishment would serve as deterrent to others.

He described kidnapping as economic crime, and explained that some people were conniving with foreigners to kidnap Residents.

The Governor who emphasized that the state Government would not tolerate any crime and criminality, urged religious leaders and traditional rules to support government in its bid to tackle insecurity.

Governor Abiodun who said that no investor could invest in an insecured environment , expressed the commitment of present administration to provide conducive atmosphere.

Earlier, the chief imam of Remoland Sheik Junald abdukadri said the league of imams and Alfas would continue to support the present administration for successful implementation of its agenda.
