Tears as Landowner Allegedly Destroys Shops of traders in Ado Ekiti.
some traders using containers as shops in Adehun area of Ado Ekiti have been thrown into pain and agony as their shops and goods were destroyed by some youths.
The persons were said to be allegedly acting under the instruction of the acclaimed owner of the land where the containers were placed.
Report says the land owner had recently served the traders quit notice but they were yet to relocate before the destruction.
The men who came with sledge hammers, bar and other instruments demolished the shops without allowing the traders to pack their goods.
In an interview, some passersby expressed worry over the wanton destruction of people’s means of livelihood.
Speaking with some of the victims, they expressed sadness over the development saying they were using part of the land which belong to government, noting that the acclaimed owner of the land had subjected them to hardship.
They claimed that most of their goods were damaged in the process.
The traders however called on government to intervene and prevail on the land owner to compensate them.
As at the time of this report the traders were seen salvaging their remaining goods.
Roundoffnews attempted to speak with those who came for the destruction but they declined comment while the said land owner has not been identified for response.
