EKSU WORKERS PROTEST NON REMITTANCE OF DEDUCTIONS.

Academic and Non-Academic activities of the Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti were paralyzed for hours following a peaceful protest embarked upon by members of the Eight corporation societies in the institution.

The protesters who comprise teaching and non-teaching staff of the University moved round the institution and chanted solidarity songs to express their grievances.

Addressing newsmen during the protest, Chairmen of some of the societies, Mrs. Akin Adeniji, Mr. Abel Awe and Professor Adeola Adegun said that the management of the institution owed them about twelve months deduction.

They explained that the ugly development had not allowed members to access loans and had really affected their living standard and well being of their families.

The cooperators called on the state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to intervene in the matter for peace to reign in the school.

None of the management members was around to react to the protests.
